Villa Calliste is located in the northwestern corner of Mykonos Island in a serine and strictly residential area known as Paradeisia, set above Tourlos and the New Port. A “crown jewel” of the Mykonos Grand Villa collection of rental villas in Mykonos, Villa Calliste is set on a hillside ledge offering striking panoramic views of the typically wild Mykonian landscape, the main town with its charming old port, locally referred to as “Chora”, the majestic Aegean Sea with the islands of Syros and Paros in the distance, and last but not least the UNESCO World Heritage Site archeological islands of Delos and Rhenia, mythological birthplaces of Apollo and Artemis.
Upon arrival to the gated estate, a stone paved driveway leads our guests through a stone wall enclosed courtyard on the main terrace that surrounds the villa and to its gracious main entrance. Entering into Villa Calliste, our guests are welcomed into a bright, tastefully decorated entrance hall with a lounging area that opens up to a large, spacious hard wood floor and wood beamed ceiling living room with a fireplace, lounging areas that can comfortably accommodate eighteen (18) guests and a magnificent view that invites guests to step out onto the main terrace and feast on the spectacular display from one of its several pergola shaded outdoor lounging areas that can accommodate more than thirty (30) quests in total. Just few steps below, the large pool terrace is ideal for bathing in the world renowned Cycladic sun light during the day and witnessing the drama of sun god “Helios”, riding in his golden chariot, as he plunges into the Aegean Sea for a summer sunset or “explodes” on the island of Syros in the spring and autumn.
Adjacent to the living room and through a wide arched doorway there is a dining area that can comfortably accommodate ten (10) guests for indoor dining during the day, beyond which there is a “state of the art” fully equipped and fully functional open plan kitchen both of which, exiting to the terrace, access a pergola shaded dining area that can comfortably accommodate ten (10) guests and a lounging area, perfect for entertaining. A separate, auxiliary “outdoor” kitchen, equipped with a BBQ and a stone oven, is the ideal catering area for a moon light diner in the evening with a dazzling view of “Chora” and the old port, brilliantly lit up for the night.
To the left of the main entrance a corridor leads to the living quarters of the main level which consist of two large, bright bedrooms en-suite, with hard wood floors, wood beamed ceilings, stylishly furnished and enjoying the marvelous views of the Aegean Sea. The one with a large double bed and fire place, exits to the front terrace, while the other with a canopied single bed (can be converted to a double bed) exits to a large pergola shaded lounging area that can comfortably accommodate at least six (6) guests. A conch shaped, sky lit staircase, in the corridor beyond the main entrance hall, ascends to the top level landing and sleeping quarters that can accommodate four (4) guests. The master bedroom, consisting of a study with a great view of “Chora”, a large walk-in closet, a sizable full bathroom and a spacious, tastefully furnished bedroom with a double bed and a grand view, exits to a balcony that overlooks the front terrace, the pool and sparkling water of the Aegean Sea, while a second bedroom en-suite, with a twin double bed, ample space and a great view, also exits to the balcony. Descending the conch shaped stair case to the lower “submariner” level, one finds two (2) bedrooms en-suite, with “cours anglaise”, one with twin double beds the other with a double bed. A large recreation/living room, a functional kitchen and a separate guest bathroom on this level provide further independence. The "submariner", comfortably accommodating four (4) guests in total, is ideal for teenagers who may wish to stay up late and “play” in a less formal environment and/or family attendants.
